The church year runs from March/April
The churchwardens are elected by the parishioners of Ecclesfield at the ‘Vestry Meeting’ which precedes the Annual General Meeting of the church each spring
The letter “V” indicates Vicar’s Warden referring to the previous practice of the vicar choosing one parishioner to be his personal warden with the other three ‘people’s wardens’ being elected.
The practice was discontinued by Revd. Dr. David James in 1987 resulting in all 4 wardens being elected and the practice was later abandoned by the Church of England
